Networking doesn’t have to be awkward, contrived or salesy. In this session, participants learnt how to take the ick out of networking and transform their experience meeting new people.

During the session we learned the 

• Why curiosity is your secret weapon
• The C.A.L.M.S. Framework to ease anxiety and build relationships with ease
• How to use stories to talk about yourself without being pushy

1. Get clear on what you want people to remember. This helps you decide what to talk about and which stories to share. 
2. Remember you don’t have to do all the work. Introverts have superpowers. Tap into your natural curiosity and listen with all your senses. Some good questions to ask to get someone talking: What brought you to this event? What do you love about your work? What is something that you are excited about working on right now?
3. Tell stories that capture attention. Build a library of stories that you can pull out on any occasion. Focus on the future, not all your past accomplishments. To get started, think of the ending of your story first! Aim for a story that is 1-2 minutes long.
4. Set an intention to meet interesting people. When you see new people as potential friends instead of targets, it’s easier to make connections.
