This position is for one of our client, a leading strategic provider of innovative investment and consulting solutions serving independent financial advisors. We provide investment, relationship and practice management solutions that advisors use in helping clients achieve wealth, independence and purpose.

 

Position Summary 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Business Intelligence Director will lead a team of direct reports that will partner with various departments and business units to implement data solutions that will provide robust insights to the business. This includes transforming and combining data from various sources, designing schemas for the data, developing critical metrics, and delivering reporting solutions (primarily SalesForce and PowerBI). Qualified candidates will have strong experience within a Financial Services company and team management. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and self-directed. Candidates must have a proven ability to work well with diverse groups of colleagues and get results in a matrix resource environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a skilled Business Intelligence and analytics team to generate meaningful reporting as well as supplement with insightful analytics
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, Commercial, Investments, IT and other business functions to develop data solutions while ensuring alignment to Client’s business strategy and overall data strategies.
  • Work directly with senior business leaders to understand their needs and create innovative solutions
  • Analyze business needs, develop metrics, and develop reporting vehicles available to business users.
  • Analyze data to identify and implement strategies that provide meaningful insight to improve effectiveness of business areas.
  • Manage the production of data related processes to ensure business continuity, performance, and integrity of reports, dashboards and other business visible data solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with IT teams, internal business partners and external vendors to identify, understand, implement and support new business capabilities around business intelligence. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant business intelligence experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Must have strong business and data analysis skills and be able to understand complex business processes to develop meaningful data insights that do not rely on infrastructure heavy technology platforms. 
  • Must possess excellent communication (oral and written) and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience manipulating large datasets and the ability to analyze data to develop various technology solutions.
  • Experience with SQL, SQL Server 2008 R2.
  • Experience working with various types of business intelligence solution. Must be familiar with visualization and reporting tools (e.g. SalesForce, PowerBI Tableau, Birst, MicroStrategy, Qlikview, Spotfire).
  • Strong experience within a Financial Services Company
  • Particularly strong Excel skills
  • Very detail and process oriented
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Proven Project Management and business requirements development skills.
