We are seeking a candidate for the role of Vice President of Presales with strong executive presence and a proven ability to shape and win complex, multi-domain pursuits. This role sits at the intersection of business outcomes, technology strategy, and solution architecture, spanning Data Platforms, Application Modernization, Cloud, and Agentic AI.

The candidate will lead end-to-end solutioning from discovery and vision to reference architecture, value case, scope definition, estimation, and oral defense partnering with Sales, Industry leadership, and Delivery teams to build proposals that are outcome-led, commercially sound, and operationally executable. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant influence across pursuits and asset development.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement, Value Framing & Executive Communication

  • Lead CXO- and VP-level conversations to align business priorities, transformation outcomes, and decision criteria.
  • Translate strategic objectives into a clear solution storyline that resonates with BDMs (Business Decision Makers) and TDMs (Technical Decision Makers).
  • Facilitate discussions to drive consensus across stakeholders, articulate trade-offs, and enable decisions at pace.
  • End-to-End Solution Architecture Across Data, Apps & Agentic AI
  • Architect enterprise solutions that integrate:
  • Data & Analytics
  • Modern data platforms (lakehouse/warehouse), data engineering, governance, data products, semantic layers, advanced analytics, and BI.
  • Applications & Integration
  • Application modernization (rehost/refactor/re-architect), cloud-native architectures, microservices, API-first design, event-driven integration, resilience, and performance engineering.
  • Agentic AI
  • Agentic workflows, orchestration patterns, tool/function calling, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks, observability, and guardrails for safe deployment and operations.
  • Define non-functional requirements and architecture controls across security, privacy, compliance, reliability, performance, and cost.
  • Pursuit Leadership, Proposal Development & Deal Shaping
  • Own presales deliverables: solution approach, reference architecture, phased roadmap, delivery model, staffing plan, estimates, assumptions/dependencies, and risk register.
  • Drive scope clarity and commercial structure: phased releases, options, and scalable delivery models.
  • Lead bid responses and oral defenses; respond to objections with evidence-based reasoning covering feasibility, risk, value, and operational readiness.
  • Partner with Sales to define win themes, differentiation, partner strategy, and competitive positioning.
  • Delivery Alignment & Global Execution Readiness
  • Orchestrate solution validation with delivery architects, engineering leads, and security teams to ensure what is sold can be delivered.
  • Ensure solution handoffs are structured: scope boundaries, architecture decisions, dependencies, and delivery governance.
  • Establish controls for delivery success: architecture governance, quality gates, and measurable outcome tracking.
  • Solution Engineering & Practice Enablement
  • Build reusable assets: reference architectures, discovery accelerators, proposal templates, and industry-specific solution patterns.
  • Mentor architects and presales teams to improve solution quality, consistency, and speed-to-proposal.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in presales, architecture, or consulting with experience shaping enterprise-scale deals and transformations with an overall industry experience of 15 to 18+ years.
  • Strong capability across at least two of: Data platforms, Application modernization, AI/ML—plus ability to credibly integrate all three in solutioning conversations.
  • Demonstrated success presenting to senior stakeholders and leading solution defenses.
  • Strong grounding in enterprise architecture fundamentals: security, privacy, compliance, resiliency, performance engineering, and cost management.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce executive-ready deliverables: proposals, SOWs, roadmaps, architecture diagrams, and estimates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft-first enterprise experience (Azure ecosystem).
  • Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), AI/ML credentials (preferred, not required).

Working Style & Expectations

  • Outcome-led, structured, and commercially grounded approach to solution design.
  • Strong executive communication and facilitation skills; credible with both business and technical leaders.
  • Collaborative across Sales, Delivery, and partner ecosystem teams to drive pursuit success.
