Marketing Automation & CRM Strategy is a strategic role in the digital marketing center of excellence (COE), driving client marketing automation and CRM strategy, managing client project deliverables, and leaning into team subject matter experts for support as needed. This role serves as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for integrated marketing automation strategy and execution workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with business strategy teams and client marketing teams to develop an integrated, sales enablement and multi-channel marketing automation strategy for specific client needs including product launches, seasonal campaigns, rewards program launches, app updates, and program overhauls.
  • Lead or conduct marketing automation technology maturity and capability assessment, which will inform both an understanding of the current state as well as guide for road mapping future needs.
  • Lead development of client data governance strategy and orchestration that activates business and marketing objectives at scale. Project tasks include leading client workshops to better align on marketing objectives and collaborating with database teams on data field mapping execution.
  • Identify and engage digital marketing subject matter experts to align processes for audience planning, personalization activation, measurement strategy, tagging and tracking/analytics, marketing automation/CRM integration and journey orchestration, as well as content development work.
  • Responsible for collaboration with appropriate data analysts/teams in defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that measure critical performance and compares performance against benchmark as well as best practice standards.
  • Consult with clients on business issues and drive actionable insights with tangible business outcomes to create value.
  • Plan, create, and execute workshops and structured meetings to develop a clear understanding of clients’ business objectives and challenges.
  • Understand client’s business requirements and translate them into strategic roadmap and technical requirements.
  • Understand client’s MarTech stack and assess client readiness and utilization of the stack.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients, keeping in mind their level of maturity, capabilities, constraints, pain points, and provide timely and effective responses to all client questions.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and recommend new tactics, tools, methods and regulatory compliance efforts (GDPR, CCPA, Can-Spam, HIPAA, COPA, FERPA, etc.)
  • Prepare and deliver top quality proposals and presentations to clients to demonstrate progress, ensuring that documentation and presentation material follows all company guidelines.
  • Support new client acquisition efforts with high-level analysis, implementation roadmaps, management estimates, and case studies.
  • Seek out and execute on opportunities to promote thought leadership - case studies, white papers, blog posts, speaking at conferences/events, award submissions, etc.
  • Ensure account processes and documentation are developed and maintained for each client to support team transitions and backup, and client transitions.
  • Assist with planning team size and operating budget; work with recruiters to target candidates for open positions; interview and help onboard.
  • Work with COE leaders to help shape practice offerings, ensuring market value and competitiveness
Desired Profile:
  • Solid professional/Agency experience required
  • 5-10 years of experience managing integrated digital marketing automation strategy in an agency or multi-client organization.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with a wide range of MarTech included across marketing functions: CRM/Marketing Automation, Analytics, Data Visualization, and Content Marketing/CMS.  The successful candidate will have hands on experience with at least one technology in each channel. Technologies would ideally include Adobe Analytics & Adobe Launch, Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Oracle Eloqua, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, oversee implementation, and measure test-and-learn/AB testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and measure the impact of personalization activities/1:1 marketing.
  • Understanding of key measures of digital marketing (website, email, display, mobile app) engagement and how to identify issues within business context.
  • Continuous learning mindset, analytical thinker, and problem solver.
  • Ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent consulting skills – think on your feet, crisp speaking/communication, ability to present insights backed by data and sell in ideas to internal and client teams, focus on client success.
  • Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, with demonstrated ability to pull out insights, explain, and build cases in support of strategies, budget allocation, and KPIs.
  • Expert proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
  • Experience working with remote teams and clients.
  • Adobe Experience Cloud working experience (Adobe Analytics, Target, Campaign).
  • Marketing Automation experience (Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar).
  • Google Analytics certification.
  • Google Marketing Platform / Adobe Experience Cloud.
  • Experience with ATV, CDPs, and other new/emerging marketing technologies is a plus.​
