Magic is looking for an Solution Architect with hands-on experience in building and scaling distributed systems.

  • Specialization in areas such as Microservices, Cloud, DevOps and Integration in an Ed-tech system is desirable.
  • Experience in building and leading multidisciplinary teams of architects and engineers for rapid delivery of programs, products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development, Solution Selling
  • Solution Architecture (Digital Applications, Microservices, Cloud, Omni-Channel, Integrations)
  • Digital Strategy & Transformations, Legacy Modernization
  • Business Transformations / Business Process Consulting
  • Solution Delivery

The candidate should have a minimum experience of 10 years in building the EdTech platform an solutions with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role. Other areas of experience, practical skills and knowledge to include the following:


Must have

  • Business analysis
  • Project and product management
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience on engineering
  • Database management
  • SaaS-based platform design
  • Experience with EdTech solutions like Content distribution, learning management, Authoring, Web / mobile reader, Assessment, Learning Analytics
  • Ability to review the actual implementation of the architecture and integration point
  • Infrastructure and engineering design
  • Web and Mobility platforms
  • DevOps
  • Open to Travel to NYC office

Good to have

  • Ability to reflect on University Systems, challenges, and technology needs
  • Experience uplift/modernize University Tech Ecosystem platforms.
  • System security measures
  • Site Reliability & Engineering

The candidate should be investigative individuals, which means they’re intellectual, introspective, and inquisitive.

  • Expert communication: The Solution Architect must be capable of clearly communicating the technical aspects with CTO and Business organization
  • Mastery of software development process and technical skills: The candidate must possess plenty of knowledge in technical aspects to be able to provide guidance, identify risks, and assess the technology architecture and infrastructure of the solution
  • Detail oriented: The candidate must be a detail-oriented individual.
  • Technology agnostic: Technology is constantly changing, the candidate must stay on top of the latest technologies, techniques, and tools
  • Collaboration: The candidate must have experience in collaborating with the remotely located team at some offshore location with the diff time zone


Compensation Range: $170K - $180K
