Lazard is seeking a Background Check & Onboarding Coordinator to join the Human Resources team. In this role you will ensure that Lazard complies with background check laws, policies, and procedures, guide prospective candidates through the background check process and organize and facilitate onboarding for new hires.  


A successful Background Check & Onboarding Coordinator will have strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality and a flair for interacting with people.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage background checks for full-time employees, consultants and interns
  • Maintain confidentiality of background check information in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning the access to and dissemination of information
  • Work closely with Lazard’s background check agency
  • Receive and review documentation submitted by prospective employees
  • Track the status of background checks using Smartsheet
  • Respond to inquiries regarding background checks from prospective employees and consultants
  • Keep HRBPs informed throughout the background check process
  • Review and approve background check results
  • Coordinate new hire set up with business (laptop, desk, phones, etc.)
  • Welcome new hires and host orientation
  • Mange first day logistics
  • Assist with other background / onboarding duties as necessary

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Compensation Range: $75k-$95k approx.
