Ares is seeking a full-time Senior Associate or Vice President to join our dynamic and growing Insurance Solutions (AIS) team to focus on:
Optimizing regulatory insurance capital consumption for investment portfolios across different asset classes, legal entities, and regulatory jurisdictions
Producing and updating investment business plan, with respect to expected investment earnings and regulatory capital consumption, for the broader insurance company FP&A needs
Identifying and implementing potential financial engineering solutions, within the investment portfolios, for regulatory capital optimization, in collaboration with the AIS portfolio management team and other business partners
Key Responsibilities:
Optimize regulatory insurance capital consumption for investment portfolios across different asset classes, legal entities, and regulatory jurisdictions
Produce and update investment business plan quarterly, with respect to expected investment earnings and regulatory capital consumption, for broader Aspida insurance company FP&A needs, in collaboration with AIS portfolio management and Aspida finance / actuarial teams
Develop and maintain the necessary models and tools to perform the investment capital optimization and financial planning responsibilities
Ensure any capital optimization recommendations and business plans for the investment portfolio are well communicated and understood by other senior AIS / Aspida stakeholders
Integrate any capital modelling and FP&A analytics with the broader Ares iQ initiative (AIS’s Python-based security level analytics platform for scenario-based insurance ALM, capital management, and financial projections), and contribute to its design, implementation, and validation as required
Provide necessary technical support for AIS and Aspida with respect to regulatory capital reporting and rating agency meetings
Keep AIS and Aspida management up to date on any major investment related regulatory changes
Identify and implement potential financial engineering solutions for investment capital optimization in collaboration with the AIS portfolio management team and other business partners
Advise AIS management and quantify capital implications under different jurisdictions for M&A opportunities, sidecar structures, or other corporate development / expansion plans
Collaborate with other Ares quantitative, operations, and IT resources on Ares iQ and all other capital modelling and related analytics initiatives
Develop professional business relationships and partner with portfolio management, actuarial, financial, and other Ares / Aspida team members to support Aspida capital management and FP&A needs as required
Provide mentoring and guidance to junior members on the team as AIS continues to grow.
