Job Description
As Principal Cloud Network Engineer, you will leverage your knowledge of the cloud to develop innovative solutions. Working with a team of highly-skilled cloud network engineers, you will be encouraged to think outside of the box to develop and deploy reliable cloud-based infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Applying cloud-engineering best practices to design cloud-based solutions; leveraging past experience to gage feasibility.
· Working to maintain project vision during all phases of the IAC development process; ensuring agility throughout development process.
· Offering continuous technical guidance and support to stakeholder while implementing new cloud-based solutions; leading and participating in training sessions with colleagues and stakeholders.
· Providing defense-in-depth protection from cyber security threats by configuring cloud firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateways and other network security devices.
· Monitoring key metrics necessary to monitor the performance of overall operations i.e. capacity, availability, integrity and cost-efficiency.
· Offering support to colleagues and stakeholders during scheduled maintenance windows and project timeframes; protecting the workflow of the organization while key systems are temporarily unavailable.
· Participating in knowledge sharing sessions; offering relevant cloud engineering expertise to cross-functional teams; participating in code and design reviews.
· Ensuring the security of all cloud-based solutions; collaborating with cyber security and software engineering teams.
Desired Profile:
· 7+ years of working experience with cloud architecture, engineering, and security
· Demonstrated experience developing IAC (Infrastructure as Code) using automation platforms including Terraform, Ansible, Python, OpenStack, Ruby, Java, .NET, PHP.
· Experience implementing various cloud services including, AWS, Azure, Oracle OCI, Kyndryl zCloud, GCP, Cisco WCCE, VMWare
· Experience with planning, engineering, and implementing network device configurations, including Cisco routers, switches, and ASA firewalls
· Experience with: TCP/IP, BGP, Routing, IPAM, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SDWAN, AD, Equinix Exchange Fabric
· Solid understanding of identity and access management (IAM), encryption techniques, threat detection, and security troubleshooting skills.
· Collaborating with other engineering and IT teams to plan, develop, execute and support infrastructure and network-related projects; offer thought leadership in regards to network security and management.
· Assisting resolve escalating network-related issues; participate on cross-departmental crisis resolution teams as required.
· Experience working in the financial services industry; understanding of the role of custodial and consumer banks; experience managing sensitive financial data
· Experience working in an agile development environment
· Experience working with cyber security; CISSP, CCFP, CCSP, CEH, CSA, CCSP or related certifications
· Experience with infrastructure architecture; on-prem to cloud migration, cloud applications
· Experience with Splunk, Illumio, Algosec, Palo Alto / Panorama, F5
· Experience with DevOps, CI/CD piplines, Docker, Kuberbnetes
· Experience with WAN, LAN, OSI L1-L7 networking stack, MPLS, Switching,
· Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
· Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
